After I bought my first house in Amsterdam, I went looking for new furniture. I could not find exactly what I was looking for so I decided I could make my own table.
I went to a wood trader and bought all kinds of different wood.

In the workshop I started with  straightening the wood and make the different sizes of timber to similar heights.  I then sawed them into strips and glued them together.

I added two rows of smaller strips to make the table look thicker. After removing all excess glue, I grated the table to become smooth.

For the base I ordered stainless steel tubes, cut them according to my drawings from SolidWorks into parts and welded the parts together using Tig-welding.

The result is a nice designers table, designed by ‘Frits Jan van Kempen’. Also I added some new skills to my skill-set.
