After graduation and a long trip through Southern Africa I was looking for a side-job for additional income.
With my enthusiasm for and experience in the faculty workshop I became a workshop instructor at my old faculty.
This was a very nice job, I had to teach first years how the machines work (lathes, milling machines) and in the meantime I learned a lot from the older workshop instructors (real veterans like you don’t see them anymore).
Because of my experience in welding (during my internship) I also run the welding instructions for maritime students. Most of the time I had to instruct up to 10 students at a time with the help of one colleague.
Not only was the work nice to do, but I also gained a lot of experience and new skills while on the job.
Sometimes I still grave for a job like this.
